Chemical Dependency Treatment for Adolscents
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT (IOP) CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY (CD) PROGRAM
  • A year long program (continuous, new patients can join in at any time)
  • For ages 13 -17
  • Maximum of eight in the group at any one time
  • Before entering group, patient will need to schedule a 1 hour appointment with Anthony Callens (will use SASSI)
  • Dr. Eric Gilbreath, the Medical Director of the Summit IOP for Adolescents, is available for clinical consultation and medication management
  • The first 12 -16 weeks is the Intensive Portion of the program
    • We will keep an attendance sheet, absences require a doctors note, etc.
    • Group will be held M, T, W, & Th from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm in Group Room
    • 1st hour is patient only, 2nd hour is patient and parent(s) (Parents need to attend at least two times a week, Thursday is required)
    • In this program, there are different components:
      • Education about Chemical Dependency
      • How to live with Addiction
      • Prevent Relapse
  • In addition to the group meetings, patients are required to join AA and attend 2 meetings a week and work the 12-step program.
  • Must also find a sponsor
  • After week 17, patients will attend a 1 hour "aftercare" meeting each week to prevent relapse
  • TO GRADUATE: patients must have 12 POSITIVE weeks
    • Anthony Callens will assess their progress each Thursday (parents must attend)
    • During the year-long program, there will be random drug screenings
  • Prior to entering program a $1000.00 deposit is required
  • Total cost for the program is $4450.00 (minus $1000.00 deposit, balance is $3450.00)
    • Some insurance companies will pay, patients need to check with their Insurance Company for specific coverage details
    • We expect payment in full to make up for what insurance does not pay
    • We will accept payment arrangements, but Payment In Full must be received prior to graduation
